Vintage Bamboo Flower Basket – Hanakago 1 Fashion

This vintage bamboo basket is believed to be the work of an artist from the Iizuka school. Woven in the six-eyed pattern using high-quality smoked bamboo (susudake), it features a musubi (knot) design, which is often seen in the works of Rokansai Iizuka. Although the artist s name is not inscribed, you can sense the craftsmanship in how the material is prepared, and how the weaving technique is executed. A lacquered bamboo flower vase sits center for your flower arrangement. Note: bottom of bamboo vase is an open cylinder. Please insert a slim glass for your flowers.
